Iron Man 3 Trailer

Who else is excited about this???

The official story line to the film is that Tony Stark will have his personal life destroyed by is enemy and this time round it is being played by Sir Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin. The trailer has Tony Stark doing a voice over about how things haven't been right since New York and that he is scared about someone hurting Pepper to get to him. The trailer is action packed with the big moment coming when we see someone fire missiles at Tony Stark's amazing cliff side house, destroying it completely as it falls into the ocean. There is also a small clip of Tony being put under for some sort of medical purposes which looks intriguing. I can't wait to see more!

I love Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark/Iron Man and i loved the last two films plus he was amazing in Avengers. Also back reprising their roles are Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle and Jon Favreu as Pepper Potts, James Rhodes and Happy Hogan, with Paul Bettany voicing Jarvis and I will expect to see a Stan Lee cameo. They will be joined by some new faces that will include Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale and the already stated Sir Ben Kingsley. Although Jon Favreu directed the first two films he has taken on an executive producer role this time and handed the reins to Shane Black.

I am really looking forward to seeing Iron Man 3 especially after the Avengers and wondering which angle the story will take, will we see any Avengers cameos and is it going to lead into the other films in the franchise. I have high hopes that the story line will be better than the second film as i really didn't like Mickey Rourke as the bad guy so looking forward to seeing Ben Kingsley turn as the villain.

Getting really excited now!! Bring on April

Iron Man 3 is set for release on the 26th April in the UK and the 3rd May in the US.

Carrie Trailer

The trailer for the remake of Stephen Kings Carrie has been released with Chloe Moretz. As well as the teaser trailer being released the first of the posters has also been released (above) which gives me the chills with the black eyes and all the blood.

The teaser trailer doesn't really give much away, all we see is a close up of a burning building for most of the 60 second teaser with voice overs of various unknown people and at the end we see Carrie (Chloe Moretz) standing filthy and covered in blood.

If you haven't read the book or seen the other two film adaptations the main plot to the film is that Carrie lives in Maine with her deeply religious mother Margaret (Julianne Moore) and at school is the outcast and doesn't stand up for herself., especially from the leader of the popular mean girls Chris Hargensen (Portia Doubleday, but Sue Snell (Gabrielle Wilde) tries to make amends by getting her boyfriend Tommy (Ansel Elgort) to ask Carrie to Prom which ends in disastrous consequences when Carrie is pushed to far by the school bullies and cracks, unleashing havoc on the town with telekinetic powers.

Kimberley Peirce is directing the remake with the screen play written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. The film will also star Judy Greer, Alex Russell and Cynthia Preston.

I haven't read the book yet but have read a few of Stephen Kings books before and have been planning on reading Carrie for a while and will be downloading it onto my Kindle. Horror films tend not to be my choice of films but i do make an effort to watch any that have been adapted from Stephen King's books.

The film is set for release on the 15th March 2013

Die Hard 5

Bruce Willis is back as our favourite cop John McClane in the 5th installment of the Die Hard franchise this one being entitled 'A Good Day to Die Hard'. I think the first Die Hard is one of my favourite films, or at least on of my favourite Christmas films, not only is Brice Willis great in it, but Alan Rickman plays a great bad guy, he is amazing in the film.

The basic story line around this installment is that John McClane's son Jack (Jai Courtney)  gets into trouble when he is in Russia, and being a good father John goes out to Moscow to help his son out, only to get caught up in a terrorist plot that is linked to his son's arrest.

Directing this installment is John Moore, written by Skip Woods and will also star Cole Hauser, Sebastian Koch, Yuliya Snigir and reprising her role as Lucy McClane is Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

The trailer doesn't really give much away apart from a lot of explosions and gun fights, but its what we expect from the Die Hard franchise and also from a Bruce Willis film, so whats not to like.

If you haven't seen any of the previous films i suggest that you do, at least the first one any way, you don't really need to watch them to understand the plot as its easy to follow but you should watch them because they are great films, well definitely the first film as its superb. I haven't watched the other 3 in years so will have to catch up on them. The films are always on TV so if you see it on i strongly suggest watching it, you won't be disappointed.

The film is set for release on the 14th February 2013.

Fanboys

This has to be one of my favourite films, never get tired of watching it, it always make me laugh.

The film is set in 1998 just before the release of the Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace and Eric Bottler (Sam Huntington) reunites with his high school friends at a Halloween party, Hutch (Dan Fogler), Windows (Jay Baruchel), Zoe (Kristen Bell) and Linus (Chris Marquette). Eric who now works in his fathers car dealership has had to give up his dreams from high school where as his friends haven't changed at all, and when he finds out that his best friend Linus is dying of cancer, Eric brings up the idea of breaking into Skywalker ranch (a plan they drew up in high school) so that Linus can watch The Phantom Menace before he dies, and so their road trip begins when Window's says that he has met someone online that can help them break into the Lucas ranch so they start their Journey off to Texas.

On their journey to Texas the guys stop at the future birth place of Captain James T Kirk and terrorize some Trekkies, their van breaks down and end up in a biker bar stripping and getting high of guacamole laced with peyote. When Windows finally meets his online friend Rogue Leader, lets just say that he gets quite a shock but its hilarious, but the guys are sent on their way to meet another person who can help them in Las Vegas. Along the way up to Las Vegas the guys get arrested, after some light speed action and have to be bailed out  by Zoe (Kristen Bell) who wants to come along with the guys.

When they get to Vegas Linus and Eric go off to meet their contact who turns out to be William Shatner (as himself) gives them the plans for the Skywalker ranch so that they can break in and they also bump into the Trekkies that they terrorized after realizing that the hotel they are in are having a Star Trek convention. Mean while Hutch and Windows have hit it off with two women and end up ditching Zoe (who is in love with Windows but he doesn't realize).

Eventually the gang end up at the Skywalker ranch and i am not going to say what happens next or whether Linus gets to see the film. But what i will say is that this is a film you need to watch! It is hilarious! Some of my favourite bits happen when they get into the Skywalker ranch. Kristen Bell is brilliant as Zoe, she stands out amongst the group of guys and holds her ground, especially when she threatens to burn an Ewok (love the Ewoks) . The appearance of Seth Rogan is so funny especially when he shows off his tattoos and his defense of Star Wars against the Trekkies. Even though the film has the sad story line of Linus's illness, you kind of forget about it during the film, even though they are on a quest for him to fulfill a wish before he dies. Along side the Linus's story line, Eric is trying to find his place in the world as he is unhappy at his fathers car dealership as he gave up his dream of being a comic book artist, and we see Eric struggling with the decision as to whether he should abandon the gangs quest and go home or to give up his opportunity to take over his fathers dealership and do what makes him happy.

The film was originally released on the 6th February 2009 and was directed by Kyle Newman with the story written by Dan Pulick and Ernest Cline. It also has some great cameos related to Star Wars and cult-hit/Sci-Fi films, not going to tell you who because why that would be spoiling the surprise, lets see how many you can spot.

This film is brilliant i really suggest watching it, even if you don't like Star Wars its still a really good film.

You can buy it for £5 from Amazon and it is definitely worth it.

Ruby Sparks Trailer

After seeing the trailer last night whilst i was at the cinema, i can't wait to go and see the film. It looks really good, especially if your in the mood for a good Rom-Com. The film is brought to us by the same people who made Little Muss Sunshine, which i love, so i have high hopes for the Ruby Sparks, and hopefully it won't be a generic Rom-Com.

They story is about Calvin (Paul Dano) who is a young novelist who had a successful novel when he was 19 and has been struggling with writers block ever since. After some advice from his therapist (Elliot Gould) he comes up with a character who inspires him to write, Ruby (Zoe Kazan) and when Ruby appears in his living room he is completely shocked that the words he has written have turned into a real breathing person which turns Calvin's life upside down especially when he finds out that he can control Ruby by his writing, which we all know is going to end in a disaster when Ruby finds out.

The film was directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, and was written by Ruby Sparks herself Zoe Kazon. The film also stars Antonio Banderas, Annette Bening, Steve Coogan, Chris Messina and Deborah Ann Woll.

The trailer for this film looks brilliant and also got the song Ruby by the Kaiser Chiefs stuck in my head, so will definitely be going to see it when its released on the 12th October in the UK

LOL Review

Certificate: 12A Directer: Lisa Azuelos Cast: Miley Cyrus, Demi Moore, Douglas Booth and Ashley Green  Distributor: Lionsgate  Running Time: 97 mins

When the film starts we meet LoL (Miley Cyrus) and her friends including Kyle (Douglas Booth), Janice (Lina Esco), Emily (Ashley Hinshaw) and you may recognize Adam Sevani from the Step Up series as Wenn, we also meet her 'enemy' Ashley (Ashley Greene) aka "the post it" because she sticks to every guy and her current boyfriend Chad (George Finn). In the first five minutes we find out who everyone is including Kyle (Booth) her long time friend, we all know what that leads to but more of that later, that they are in their first semester of the school year in a Fame type of way (well that's what it reminds me of), and that her boyfriend Chad cheated on her over the summer and she lies and said she hooked up with someone too which leads to Lol scribbling out the "chad & lol for ever" marker penned onto a wall in the bathroom.

When we meet her mum (Demi Moore) shes in the bath tub with her little sister and her mum is quizzing her on what she has done to her body the line "i don't want you to be a porn star" comes up. There is also diary involved which only ever leads to bad things. But Lol and her mum are really close which is kind of nice to see but if it follows the normal pattern something is going to happen to disrupt that. There is also a funny scene between Lols friend Emily and the hot math teacher (Austin Nichols) and with the rest of the girls in the class. We also find out the Lola's divorced parents are hooking up again and she's not very happy about it, but it also shows Emily and Kyle having dysfunctional families which causes tension with Kyle's band that also has Chad in it but they aren't actually that bad and at battle of the bands you start to see Lola's and Kyle's relationship start to develop past friendship especially during the house party that Lola has when her mum goes away for the weekend.

Like every other romance/drama film something happens between the two of them, in this case Lol suspects Kyle of cheating on her with Ashley, and they break up. With out giving to much away, there is a lot of drama between the group of friends especially when Lol finds out the truth when they are on a school trip to Paris, which was one of my favourite parts of the film, but the events in Paris have an affect on Lols relationship with her mother, after her mother reads her diary. If you are a fan of the teenage rom-coms you can probably guess how the movie will end, but if you don't now i will leave it for you to find out.

If yours a fan of Miley Cyrus or the rom-coms full of teenage angst then this is a film for you. I did like the film and its not a bad story, a bit predictable but worth the watch if it you get the chance.

The film is released on DVD in the UK on the 15th October and is £10 on Amazon

Rating: 6/10

Cinderella

The Disney DVD collection is expanding again, this time with the Diamond Edition of Cinderella, the 12th film in the Walt Disney Animated Classics was nominated for three Academy Awards when it was released in 1950. I love this film so much  its one of my favourite Disney film. The has been so many adaptations of this story in so many different way but nothing can beat the Disney version for me, from the characters to the music i love it all, i even have a drawing of Cinderella at home that was done by one of the artist at Disney World in Orlando.

Everyone knows the story of Cinderella, her dad remarries when she is a little girl, to a women who already has two daughters, and then the father dies and Cinderella is reduced to a servant a forced to serve her wicked stepmother and stepsisters. There is a ball at the castle and Cinderella wants to go but is forbidden by her stepmother unless she completes a ridiculous list of chores and make her own dress, which she does and it ends up getting ruined by her evil stepsisters, but all is not lost when Cinderella's Fairy Godmother turns up and helps her make it to the ball with the help of magic, where Cinderella meets the Prince and falls in love, when the clock turns midnight Cinderella  has to go, and she leaves behind a glass slipper which leads the Prince on a quest to find Cinderella and he does and they live happily ever after. Well that's basically the story line with a few bits and pieces tossed in to make it more interesting.

I love all the little characters we see in the film, like the mice especially Gus hes so cute and funny and then there is Lucifer the cat, who is pure evil but is brilliant and cunning i swear my cat is like him and Bruno the dog who is so cute and absolutely hates the cat. And we can not forget the Fairy Godmother "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo" love that bit.

If you haven't got Cinderella its a must have for the DVD collection its a must have the the best price i have found is £12.97 from Amazon

The Perks of Being a Wallflower Trailer

The films stars Logan Lerman as Charlie, an introverted freshmen who is taken under the wings of two seniors Patrick (Ezra Miller) and Sam (Emma Watson), who teach him the ways of the world. In the coming of age story based on the bestselling book by Stephen Chbosky, which is waiting to be read on my kindle before i go and see the film, as the book is suppose to be really good.

The trailer looks really good and looks like it will be a great story as we see Charlie develop through high school with the guidance from Sam and Patrick, through love, loss, fear and hope and the unforgettable friends that you make and that help guide you through life. I am also interested in seeing Emma Watson in something outside Harry Potter because i am so use to seeing her as Hermione and i want to see if she can break away from the character and make a name for herself without Harry Potter (even though i do love Harry Potter).

The film also stars Paul Rudd, Nina Dobrev, Kate Walsh, Dylan McDermott and Mae Whitman as we follow Charlie through the funny and touching coming-of-age story, i can't wait to go and see t looks like it will be a good film.

The film is released Nationwide on the 5th October and in selected cinemas from the 21st September.

And don't for get to read the book before you see the film.
