The first trailer for Les Miserables has been released. The trailer shows Anne Hathaway singing "I Dreamed a Dream" over the trailer as we see bits and pieces of the different characters and a little bit about the story, but the trailer doesn't give much away.
Set in 19th century France the film tells the story of Jean Valjean, a former prisoner who becomes major of a small time of a town in France. Valjean agrees to take care of Cosette the illegitimate daughter of Fantine, and must avoind being captured by Javert, a police inspector.
The cast ensemble along with Anne Hathaway is Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Eddie Redmayne, Amanda Seyfried, Sacha Baron Cohen, Helena Bonham Carter, Samantha Barks and Aaron Tveit.
The film is set for release on the 14th December in the US and 11th January in the UK
The film is based on the last days of of the legendary Country star Hank Williams as he drives through the Appalachian country-side of 1950's America. A two man journey with a boy coming of age and a man who left the world way before his time as a victim of his own abuse.
If you don't now who Hank Williams is he pioneered and pretty much invented country music. At the peek of his career he was acknowledged as the greatest ever singer-song writer in American history. After his rise to fame in the 1940's his life was a train wreck, drugs, alcohol and a hair trigger temper had ended two marriages, lost the majority of his friends and he was untouchable in the music industry even though he was a musical genius no one wants to work with him. In 1952 he decided to get his act together and he booked gigs for New Years Eve and hires a local kid who doesn't even own a radio to drive him as we follow the "mysterious" last days of Hank Williams.
Taking on the role of the musical genius is Henry Thomas and is joined by Jesse James, Fred Dalton Thompson, Kaley Cuoco, Steven Tobolowsky and Ray McKinnon. Behind the camera directed is Henry Thomason.
The film looks really good, I don't really know much about Hank Williams but the trailer for the film has me hooked, i loved Walk the Line the biopic of the life of Johnny Cash who had some of the same issues to over come like Hank Williams so i hope it is going to be just as good or even better.
The film is released on the 22nd June so don't forget to check it out
Daniel Craig is back as our favourite secret agent in the 23rd installment of the longest running film franchise.
Not a lot is given away from this teaser, but it looks like its going to be a good one. I didn't really like Quantum of Solace but hopefully this film will make up for it.
Bond finds his loyalty to M challenged when secrets from her past come to light. MI6 is attacked, Bond sets out to eliminate the threat regardless to what it will cost him.
Along side Daniel Craig the film stars Javier Bardem, Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney, Naomie Harris, Rory Kinnear, Berenice Marlohe, Helen McCroy, Ola Rapace and Ben Whishaw,
Directing the film is Sam Mendes as Craig makes his 3rd appearance as 007.
How can we not love James Bond, and Daniel Craig has been one of my favourite 007's. I will definitely be going to see this.
Brave is this years Disney Pixar animated film (love Disney) and it looks really good. The film is centered around our Princess Merida who is a bit of a tom boy who love archery and wants to show her worth and defy the customs of her kingdom and it causes ciaos with in the kingdom. Merida consults a witch to help her change her destiny and like most Disney film it comes with consequences, when her family becomes cursed Merida must find a way to reverse the spell and save her family and discover the true meaning of bravery along the way.
Voicing the characters are Kelly Macdonald, Julie Walters, Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson, Kevin McKidd, Craig Ferguson, John Raztenberger and Robbie Coltrane.
It is no secret that i love Disney films and will definitely be going to see this when it comes out at the cinema. In my opinion some of the latest attempts to create a Disney Princess type of story haven't worked out very well (Princess and the Frog) and i am a big fan of the Disney classics so the newer films have a lot to live up to and i hope that Brave will do just that. The trailers look really good and i can't wait for it to be released.
Brave is set for release on the 22nd June in the US and on the 17th August in the UK
Snow White and the Huntsman is the second of the films based around the Snow White story this one being the more darker, action led of the two films. The film was directed by Rupert Sanders and written by Evan Daughtry.
The film is set in the middle ages and the Queen Ravenna (Charlize Theron) is taking over Europe, but she realizes that her step daughter Snow White (Kristen Stewart) is not only to be the 'Fairest of one all' but to take over her throne and become Queen. The only way for the Queen to remain on the throne is to consume Snow White's heart and become immortal. Snow White has escaped into the dark forest so Ravenna sends the huntsman Eric (Chris Hemsworth) after her to bring back Snow White's heart, but Eric can't kill her so instead teaches her how to fight and they with eight dwarfs, knights from England and Snow White's ex Prince William (Sam Claflin) and they start a revolution against the Queen.
I actually can't wait to see this film, Kristen Stewart isn't my favourite actress but the film looks really good, Charlize Theron looks brilliant as she plays the evil queen and Chris Hemsworth looks fab as well. I have already seen Mirror Mirror and it was very light hearted but i am expecting this take on the tale to be a lot darker and not as comical.
The film is set for release on the 1st June and can't wait to go and see it.
Set in the late 21st Century, the story centers on the crew of the spaceship Prometheus as they follow a star map discovered among the the remnants of sever ancient Earth civilizations which lead to to a distant world and an advanced civilization, the crew seek the origin of humanity, but instead the crew discovers something that could erase the human race
Directing the film is Ridley Scott and is the prequel to Scott's 1979 science fiction horror Alien and the rest of the franchise. The film stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall Green and Charlize Theron.
I have high hopes for the film, i love science fiction movies and this looks brilliant and can't wait to go and see. If you have never seen any of the other films before its fine because this is a prequel to the series so you won't have missed out on much but i do suggest that you watch them after because they are really good.
Prometheus is set to be released on the 1st June in the UK and the 8th June in the US
From the people behind 'You Got Served' comes the Hip-Hop movie for the new generation of dancers. The film is set in Long Beach, California and looks at the seedy world of youth dance battle culture. Sean Lewis is a successful businessman who gets mixed up with a group of misfit 'bad boys' who have zero dance talent. To relieve his responsibility to the boys he hires a profession dancer to teach the boys. At the same time he finds himself falling for Sara who runs the community center the boys go to. With Sean's motivation the Bad Boys build up the confidence to become contenders.
The trailer for the film looks really good and that this film is going to be really funny, Step Up for the new generation. Even though the story line looks like it is going to follow the normal pattern but with a different type of cast which makes it look more interesting than your average dance film.
The film stars Marques Houston, Mekia Cox, Christopher Micheal Jones and LynnWhitfield and was directed by Chris Stokes who co-wrote the film with Marques Houston.
Battlefield America is released world wide on 1st June
Hit and Run is about a former get away driver who is in witness protection called Charlie (Dax Shepard), he messes up his identity in order to get his girl friend (Kristen Bell) to LA so she can get her dream job whilst Charlies former gang (led by Bradley Cooper) and the feds chase them down.
I just watched the trailer for Hit and Run and it had me laughing so much that hopefully the movie will hold up to the same standards. The film looks really good and i hope that the cast can deliver and what i have seen from the trailer it looks like it is going to be a good film.
Along with Dax Shepard, Kristen Bell and Bradley Cooper, the film also stars Kristin Chenoweth, Beau Bridges, Micheal Rosenbaum, Joy Bryant and Tom Arnold.
You should really watch the trailer!!
The film was written and co-directed by Dax Shepard and is set for release on the 24th August
A 4 minute preview of one of this summers biggest movies has been released.
The preview shows more bits and pieces of the up coming Amazing Spider-Man and it is brilliant. We get to see Spider-Man save a kid when the car falls off the bridge plus we get to see some good clips that see Spidey out fighting crime, Peter Parker just trying to be normal and more of Rhys Ifans Lizard. Plus we get to see some great clips of Peter and Gwen.
Taking on the role of Spider-Man is Andrew Garfield and i think he is going to do a way better job than Tobey Maguire did i think Andrew will do better at being Spidey's geeky other half.
Along side Andrew Garfield the film also star Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary and Sally Field.
So excited can not wait till it is released on the 3rd July!!!
People Like Us follows the story of Sam (Chris Pine) a struggling man in a lot of debt who goes home to LA after his fathers death and finds out that he has a sister that he has never met. He is tasked with finding his sister Frankie to giver her $150,000 that was left to her by their father. She just happens to be an alcoholic single mother of a 12 year old who happens to be troubled. Kind of what you expect from a family drama really, the kids have daddy issues, ones a failure and the other is an alcoholic, standard stuff really.
The film marks the directorial debut of Alex Kurztman and also stars Elizabeth Banks, Olivia Wilde, Michelle Pfeiffer, Mark Duplass and Jim Favreau.
I love Chris Pine, even though i can only really think of him as Captain James T Kirk (love Star Trek) i will more than likely end up watching this film, it seems like the type of film that is going to take you on an emotional roller coaster, but it looks like it will be a good film, even if i am only going to watch it because i love Chris Pine but i will still watch it.
The trailer for the new Orlando Bloom film has me a little bit freaked out and if i watch the film will more than likely put me off ever going to a hospital again (don't like them as it is).
Orlando Bloom plays Martin Blake is a young doctor eager to impress his colleagues and superiors. Including Chief Resident Waylans (Rob Morrow), fellow intern Dan (Troy Garity) and nurse Theresa (Taraji P. Hanson).
He starts his internship off badly messing up everything he does until Diane Nixon and 18-Year-Old comes in with a kidney infection and gives Martin the boost he needs until she starts to get better so he tampers with her medication to keep her next to him in the hospital. The only problem is when an orderly finds out what is happening he bribes Martin, he will tell everyone unless 'The Good Doctor' can supply him with drugs.
This film will not only put me off hospitals but probably going to see the doctor as well, it looks like it is going to be a good thriller that will keep us on the edge of our seats.
The film was directed by Lance Daly and written by John Enbourn
3 words . . . . . Channing Tatum STRIPPING!!!!!!!!
Channing Tatum plays Magic Mike a Stripper/Entrepreneur who takes on a novice stripper The Kid (Alex Pettyfer) and teaches him everything he knows about stripping (partying, picking up women and making easy money) whilst trying to seek a way out of the lifestyle to live out his dream. They both work at the club Xquisite which is owned by former stripper Dallas (Matthew McConaughey).
The film is directed by Oscar winner Steven Soderberg and also stars Joe Manganiello, Matt Bomer and Cody Horn.
After watching the trailer i really want to see this film, it looks like it will be a good laugh plus Channing Tatum and Alex Pattyfer stripping whats not to like.
This is definitely going to be a film for the ladies so don't forget to check it out when its released on the 29th June in the US and the 13th July in the UK
Don't forget to check out Channing Tatum in G.I Joe: Retaliation out this summer and 21 Jump Street out now in cinemas.
Certificate:15Directer: Joe CornishCast:John Boyega, Jodie Whittaker, Alex Emsil and Nick Frost
Distributor: Studio Canal, Film 4, UK Film Council Running Time: 88 mins
The film starts out in South London where we see Sam (Jodie Whittaker) getting mugged by a gang of teenagers including their leaded Moses (John Boyega) when something crashes down and crushes a car. Which leaves Sam the chance to run away leaving the gang behind to deal with what has fallen from the sky. The leader of the gang Moses decides to rob the car that has just been crushed and whilst he is in the car he is attacked by something, you don't see much of what attacks Moses only that its furry and has big teeth (it fell from the sky so you can safely assume that it is an alien) after Moses gets attacked the gang chase down the alien and kill it.
Back at the block where they all live they pay a visit to the local drug den which is run by Ron (Nick Frost) who is fat and lazy and hides a weed room in his flat for his boss Hi-Hatz, he agrees that the gang can keep the alien in his flat, the gang are hoping that they will gain fame and fortune after they found the alien. Whilst they are in the flat we get introduced to Brewis (Luke Teadaway) who is one of Ron's customers and is there to buy some weed. When the gang look out of the window and see more aliens falling from the sky around the block. At the same time Sam is reporting the gang to the police after they robbed her and the police go out in search of the gang.
When the police catch up with the gang they are armed with weapons to fight the aliens they meet up with Sam again who is with the police and ready to arrest the boys when the aliens attack again and result in Sam and the gang running from the aliens back into the block with not just the aliens after them but Hi-Hatz after he is almost killed by one of the aliens.
I can't really say much more with out spoiling the second half of the film but what i can say is that the gang start to fight against the aliens as they try and defend the block along with Brewis and Ron, whilst trying to stay away from Hi-Hatz.
I loved Brewis he was such a great character some of his scenes made me laugh especially because he is the complete opposite of the gang even though he tries to fit in and just doesn't it. Probs and Mayhem were brilliant as well (you will have to watch the film to find out who they are). I wasn't expecting the film to be as gory as it was, but i didn't bother me that much. I did like the film it was good to see this type of film set somewhere other than America. I loved the characters especially the different personalities in within the gang, but the story line could have been developed a bit more. But it was a good film and i am all for supporting the British film industry so this film is definitely worth a watch (plus a love any film with Nick Frost he's brilliant!!)
I have just watched the trailer for this film and i can't decided if i am going to like it or not but the trailer makes it look like its going to be a good film.
The film follows Luli (Chloe Grace Moretz) a 13 year old girl from Nebraska who runs away from her alcoholic parents and heads to Las Vegas packing a Pistol. On the road she meets a drifter named Glenda (Blake Lively) who uses cons to make money and makes Luli an accessory to robbery. Both of their lives are threatened when they meet another drifter Eddie (Eddie Redmayne).
The film is based on the novel Hick by Andrea Portes and taking the directors chair is Derick Martini.
I like Chloe Moretz especially in Kick Ass and looking forward to seeing her in Dark Shadows and i hope this is going to be a good film even though it has had mixed reviews.
The film also stars Alec Baldwin, Juliette Lewis and Rory Culkin and is out in cinemas 11th May.
The trailer for the upcoming crime thriller Gangster Squad has finally emerged online.
Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone are among the stars in director Ruben Fleischer gangster flick.
The Story is centered around the true story of the battle between LAPD and the East Coast Mob during the 1940's and 50's.
The trailer shows Brolin's character Sgt John O'Mara bring together a group of rogue cops including Gosling's character Sgt Jerry Wooters in attempt to bring down mobster Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn).
Giovanni Ribisi, Nick Nolte and Mirelle Eons also star.
I love Ryan Gosling so will be definitely be seeing this film when it is released on the 9th November.
Dark Shadows opens this week at the cinema and is another team up of the fabulous duo Tim Burton and Johnny Depp. The film is based on the fantasy comedy soap opera Dark Shadows that ran between 1966-1971.
Depp plays Barnabas a vampire who was turned by a witch called Angelique (Eva Green) after breaking her heart, he is buried alive for 200 years and when he wakes up in the 70's what was his wealthy estate has fallen into disrepair and so has what is left of his disfunctional descendants. He wishes to restore his families name, but when Angelique finds out she plots revenge and tries to win him back.
Depp looks brilliant in this film like he does in most of his films when a slightly disfunctional/weird character is involved.
Along side Johnny Depp and Eva Green the film also stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Jonny Lee Miller, Chloe Morezt, Gulliver McGrath, Helena Bonham Carter and Jackie Earl Haley.
With director Tim Burton on board you know that this is going to be a good film, and it is most definitely going to be a bit weird like most Burton films. But i am really looking forward to seeing this film, mainly because i love Johnny Depp and when ever he teams up with Tim Burton a good film always comes out.
Its already had some mixed reviews with an average rating of 52% on Rotten Tomatoes but you should still check it out.
Dark Shadows is being released on the 11th May so don't forget to check it out.
(don't forget to check back for a review of the film)
It has been confirmed that the 90's hit 10 Things I Hate About You is getting a sequel 10 Things I Hate About Life. I can't tell you how much this is a bad idea, you don't touch things that are great and don't need a sequel.
There have been many rumors over the years that they were going to do a sequel and they even tried turning it into a TV show that didn't really work out (it was rubbish) but there are some hope for the film Gil Junger who wrote the original is back to write and direct the sequel, which makes me feel a little bit better about it because they are sticking with the same people, a lot of sequels down fall is that they change the writer and the director.
The Story line for the original wasn't genius but i worked for the film, a boy meets a girl he really likes, girl can't date unless her sister does (dads rules) so boy tries to set sister up with another boy just so he can't go out with the girl. Its a bit complicated but it makes for a great film.
Hayley Atwell has been reported to have been cast in the sequel but it won't replace the original cast that we fell in love. The bad boy Patrick Verona played by the amazing Heath Ledger who is amazing, the geeky and adorable Cameron played by Joseph Gordon Levitt and Julia Stiles as Cat, an angry teen who hates everyone in high school and has an over protective father and her sister Bianca is one of the popular girls.
The highlight of the film has to be Heath Ledger singing 'Can't take my eyes off of you'
If you haven't seen the original then you should because it is one of the best teen dramas out there and just a really great film.
I don't see how the sequel is going to work because you can't beat the original!!!
Check out the trailer for 10 Things I Hate About You
It will probably come as no surprise to anyone but Disney have officially announced that Avengers 2 is in development and that it will be released after Iron Man 3, Thor 2 and Captain America 2 which leads me to believe that these three films will set up the story line for Avengers 2 as they all did for the first Avengers film.
I hope that the same cast is reassembled because they all did a great job and they all worked very well together and hopefully Joss Whedon is at the helm.
If you haven't seen the Avengers yet, do, because it was brilliant, one of the best superhero films i have seen.
I think this is my new favourite channel!!! Being at Uni makes you appreciate having Sky a lot more especially Sky+ or just TV in general that requires something bigger than a lap top screen to watch it on.
Every now and then i will have a look at what is being shown on Cinamagic cause they usually show some of the Disney classics now and then. I have nearly every Disney film on video but no longer have a video player and to replace all of the videos on DVD is quite expensive and the some of the films are only released for short periods of time. So when they pop up on Cinamagic i Sky+ them and keep them for when i want to watch them.
I love Disney films, its something that i will probably never grow out of and would watch them all the time, so Disney Cinamagic is brilliant, for the first time in years i watched Hercules and Tarzan which are two of my favourite films, and i have The Lion King and Toy Story 3 ready to watch. You also get to watch new and old Disney films that you have never seen before or never thought about watching. There are loads of films being shown daily and i already have my planner set to record.
So check out Sky channel 622
and don't forget to check out Beauty and the Beast out now at the cinema in 3D
I absolutely love the TV show, i have all 7 seasons on DVD plus Angel, but i never got around to seeing the film until this weekend when it popped up on Film 4 and i had really high hopes for it after loving the series.
Kristy Swanson takes on the role of Buffy Summers a seemingly ordinary high school teenager, well if you were to look at it from today's point of view she belongs to the "popular" group, she's a cheerleader, her boyfriend is on the basketball team and she is one of the rich girls along with a young Hillary Swank (who i just want to shut up from the minute she comes on the screen). Donald Sutherland takes on the role of the Watcher Merrick is kind of creepy as he just turns up at random places but he has been training the Slayer for hundreds of years but he is no where near as good as Giles. The online character i liked was Pike played by Luke Perry who had some great comedy moments. The story line was kind of what i expected, Buffy finding out she was the slayer, she ignores it whilst people get killed, finally realizes she needs to start doing something about it and then she defeats the bad guy with a lot of teen drama added in, plus some really bad acting.
The actual vampires were terrible, especially with the special effects having seen Lost Boys which was made 5 years earlier with better special effects and much scarier vampires, and a lot better acting (well for the 80;s anyway) and the fighting scenes are terrible Swanson was awful i much prefer Sarah Michelle Gellar. I understand that it was a low budget but i have seen some great films that have been made on a low budget.
I think if i had seen the film before the TV series then i don't think that i would have been disappointment because the standard wouldn't have been there.
I love the concept behind the film because the TV show turned out to be a success and Joss Whedon is brilliant i have loved everything he has done in particular i loved Firefly/Serenity, i just think that the film could have been better.
There have been lots of rumours about a reboot of the series but i hope they don't because it probably will ruin what has gone before especially if they are considering replacing Joss Whedon because he is a brilliant creator. All in all the film wasn't brilliant but it could have been worse,
If your a Joss Whedon fan then you should check out The Avengers and Cabin in the Woods which are playing at the cinema now.
The track list for Rock of Ages has finally been announced and there are some good tracks in here. I am not really a big fan of Tom Cruise, kind of thing i like in small doses but i have to say that i am really looking forward to seeing Rock of Ages, mainly cause i love a good musical and 80's music is just a guilty pleasure.
'Paradise City' (Tom Cruise)
'Sister Christian' /'Just Like Paradise' / 'Nothin' But A Good Time' (Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta, Russell Brand, Alec Baldwin)
'Juke Box Hero' / 'I Love Rock 'n' Roll' (Diego Boneta, Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand, Julianne Hough)
'Hit Me With Your Best Shot' (Catherine Zeta-Jones)
'Waiting For A Girl Like You' (Diego Boneta, Julianne Hough)
'More Than Words' / 'Heaven' (Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta)
'Wanted Dead Or Alive' (Tom Cruise, Julianne Hough)
'I Want To Know What Love Is' (Tom Cruise, Malin Akerman)
'I Wanna Rock' (Diego Boneta)
'Pour Some Sugar On Me' (Tom Cruise)
'Harden My Heart' (Julianne Hough, Mary J. Blige)
'Shadows of the Night' / 'Harden My Heart' (Mary J. Blige, Julianne Hough)
'Here I Go Again' (Diego Boneta, Paul Giamatti, Julianne Hough, Mary J. Blige, Tom Cruise)
'Can't Fight This Feeling' (Russell Brand, Alec Baldwin)
'Any Way You Want It' (Mary J. Blige, Constantine Maroulis, Julianne Hough)
'Undercover Love' (Diego Boneta)
'Every Rose Has Its Thorn' (Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta, Tom Cruise, Mary J. Blige)
'Rock You Like A Hurricane' (Julianne Hough, Tom Cruise)
'We Built This City' / 'We're Not Gonna Take It' (Russell Brand / Catherine Zeta-Jones)
'Don't Stop Believin' (Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta, Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand, Mary J. Blige)
The cast for this film is varied from the very experienced Cruise and Catherine Zeta Jones and the relatively new Julianne Hough and Diego Boneta who will be playing the main characters that are trying to make it big, so they head to the big city where they meet and fall in love at first sight (kind of typical, not really that original) and the film follows them on their journey. I loved Hough in the Footloose remake so looking forward to see if she can stand out amongst the bigger stars in the film and she has some great songs that hopefully she will be able to pull off and i have seen Boneta in a few things he was in Mean Girls 2 and he played Javier in 90210 but i am looking forward to seeing him take on a more of a lead role away from the teen scene.
The songs speak for themselves this is going to be all the best rock'n'roll from the 80's, i really hope Cruise doesn't ruin Paradise City for me because i love that song and it wouldn't be the 80's without some Journey. Rounding off the ensemble are Alec Baldwin, Mary J Blidge and Russell Brand (love him) and i can't wait to see them all together. I have high expectations of this film, even though i don't like Tom Cruise i will make the effort to watch it because it looks awesome!!!
Don't forget to check back for a review of the film
It is finally here, the new Spider-Man trailer has arrived and it looks awesome!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't really describe how brilliant the trailer looks you will just have to watch it and i can't wait to see the film when it comes out on the 3rd July.
Taking over the role of Spider-Man is Andrew Garfield who looks like he is going to fit into the role much better than Tobey Maguire ever did especially as Spider-Man's geeky alter ego Peter Parker. Other people stepping into the franchise are Emma Stone as Spider-man's new love interest Gwen Stacey and Rhys Ifans is taking on the role of the bad guy Dr Curt Connors aka The Lizard. I really can't wait for this film to come out!!!!
This is a must see film this summer!!!!
The Amazing Spider-Man is released world wide on the 3rd July
The script is written all that is stopping it from being made is getting the green light from the studios, but i can not wait for Bill and Ted to come back to the big screen, it is one of my favourite films and can not wait for Keanu and Alex to be reunited as the brilliant Bill and Ted, i will also be interested in what story line they are going to follow especially since it has been 23 years since they have played the characters.
Here is a reminder of what the original Bill and Ted was like way back in the 80's, if you haven't seen the film, do because its a great film, but the basic plot of the film is that two high school students Bill and Ted (Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves) are going to fail their history test and fail the year so from the future comes Rufus in a time traveling phone box (little bit Dr Who like) to help them pass the test. We see the two boys go back in time to different eras to learn about history and they decided to bring the famous people from history back to the present day to use them in their presentation (kind of like a show and tell). I loved this film from the first moment i saw it, its great fun and doesn't take its self to seriously, you should definitely watch it.
I will be waiting patiently for the third film to come out and hopefully they can take us on another most excellent adventure
The trailer for The Expendables 2 has finally been released!!!
Sylvester Stallone's action packed band of mercenaries are back together again (with some new additions) back reprising their roles in the action packed film are Jason Statham, Brice Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jet Li with Liam Hemsworth joining the crew.
The first Expendables film was a brilliant team up of the best action stars at the moment and was just pure adrenalin fueled action through out so i am hoping for the same from the second. This is the kind of film that can get away with a bad story line because no one cares, they just want to watch the action and this is the film that delivers it. I hope we see more of Bruce in this film as he only had brief scenes so my fingers are crossed for some more of him. I am also curious how Liam Hemsworth is going to fit in this style of film because i haven't seen him in a film like this before so i hope he can stand his own ground against these action star heavy weights.
The Expendables 2 is set for release on17th August so don't forget to check it out!!
Mark Ruffalo could be coming back as our favourite green monster The Hulk at up to 6 appearances in the deal he has just signed for Marvel. At first when i heard he was going to be playing The Hulk i was trying to work out how this mainly indie actor was going to pull it off but his performance as Banner was one of the better that i have seen (predecessors Eric Baner and Edward Norton) and one of my highlights of the film, he managed to play the part of the scientist really well and was very believable, his scenes with Robert Downey Jr's Tony Stark were some of the best scenes in the film as Tony tries to get Banner to unleash the monster with in which he has tried so hard to keep under control. Ruffalo does a great job playing the polar opposites of the Banner's personality almost like a Dr Jekyll Mr Hyde, by day he's this quiet scientist and by night he's this big green angry monster who he has no control over. As the Hulk there are some great comical scenes during the fighting period which made everyone in the cinema laugh out loud, they were brilliant.
So I wonder what films he could be a part of Iron Man 3 or Thor 2 which are set for release in 2013 (can't wait), maybe Captain America 2 (its only been announced no dates have been issued yet) or maybe in a new Hulk film and possibly a chance of another Avengers film (fingers crossed) all in all i will be interested in how he can further develop the character and can't wait to see more from him.
Certificate:12ADirecter: Scott HicksCast:Zac Efron, Taylor Schilling and Blythe DannerDistributor: Warner Bros Pictures Running Time: 101 mins
Logan (Zac Efron) is a marine serving his third tour of Iraq whilst there he finds a picture in the sand and when he goes to pick it up a bomb lands from where he was previously sat, the picture had the words "be safe" written on the back, the picture saved his life. When he arrives home from Iraq to his family he is suffering from a lot of guilt and doesn't know where he fits in especially since he survived and many others didn't. So he decides to find the woman in the picture using the landmark in the picture behind her, he and his dog Zeus head off to Louisiana to find the woman who saved his life.
When Logan arrives in Louisiana to find that the woman in the photo is named Beth (Taylor Schilling) and that she runs a dog kennel and when he turns up at the kennel she assumes that he is there to apply for a job and she also thinks hes crazy, Beth's grandmother Ellis (Blythe Danner) hires him anyway. Through the first 40 minutes of the film we find out that Beth has a son, Ben, and has a bad and slightly abusive relationship with her ex-husband who also happens to be a police officer who doesn't like Logan. We also find out that Beth's brother was also a marine who died a year earlier in Iraq.
As per the normal Nicholas Sparks stories the relationship between Logan and Beth develops into romance, which Beth's ex husband Kieth doesn't approve of and gives Beth the ultimatum of having full custody of her son or Logan, which drives her to finally stand up to him and start living her life for her self, which leaves us with some very steamy scenes with Logan (i won't give any spoilers you will have to watch for yourself).
Logan still hasn't told Beth about the picture, which predictably leads to Keith finding the photograph in Logan's house and he telling Beth about his discovery and a confrontation with Logan later and the truth comes out. Without giving to much away a storm comes to town and we start to see one character in a different light, but you will have to watch the film to find out who and how the story ends.
The film follows to typical pattern that all the other Nicholas Sparks stories follow the boy meets girl and falls in love with a lot of complications along the way. The film is good, it was weird seeing Zac Efron playing a much older character i think i still picture him as Troy Bolton but he puts in a great performance along with Taylor who plays the role of Beth really well and manages to get the emotions across and has some great scenes with Blythe Danner that made me laugh. Riley Thomas Stuart puts in a great performance as Ben and the relationship between Ben and Logan is heart warming. Even though the film didn't make me cry like most of Spark's films (cried like a baby watching A Walk to Remember) as i have connected with the characters but it was still a good romance film and would suggest watching it.
Rating: 6/10

This summer she will no longer just be know as Emma Stone she will officially become Gwen Stacey, I like Emma as an actress and have picked my 3 favourite films she has been in.
Easy A
Emma plays quirky teenager Olive as she tries to survive the high school rumour mill, well the rumour she started to improve her social and financial standing. This is a great film especially if you want a good laugh. The film also stars Amanda Bynes, Penn Badgley, Lisa Kudrow, Stanley Tucci and Dan Byrd.
The Help Emma takes on the role of aspiring writer in the 1960's during the civil riots, she writes a book from the point of view of African American maids working in households of white families and their stories and hardships that they go through. The film was nominated for several Oscars and Octavia Spencer won the Oscar for best supporting actress. The film is brilliant some of the stories were hilarious and if you have seen it you know which one i am talking about (The pie incident). The film also stars Octavia Spencer, Viola Davis and Bryce Dallas Howard.
Zombieland Emma Stone plays Witchta in a zombie ridden America and with her sister (Abagail Breslin) are trying to get to a theme park and join up with college student Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) who is trying to find his family and Tallahasee (Woody Harrelson) who hates zombies. They all are trying to get through America with out being caught by the zombies with Billy Murray making an appearance. I haven't seen this film in ages but it was funny and a bit gory in parts of it but definitely worth the watch.
Check out the earlier post on The Amazing Spiderman out this summer!!!
