2013

I am looking forward to the new year and the amazing film line up ahead. Obviously i can't mention every film due of in the next year but will mention some that i personally am looking forward to.

Iron Man 3 (26th April 2013)
Can not wait to see this!! Getting excited just mentioning it. But i love Iron man and i love Robert Downey Jr i think he is amazing and the trailer for the next installment looks spectacular. Not only is it a sequel to the Iron Man films but it will also (fingers crossed) start setting up the story line for the next Avengers film. Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle are back and joining them is Ben Kingsley as our villain. With a new director at the helm no doubt it will be a success.

Star Trek Into Darkness (17th May 2013)
I loved the first Star Trek film and can't wait to see Kirk and Spock reunited on the big screen again. Not a lot of the story line has been given away but a lot of speculation that the character that Benedict Cumberbatch's character is indeed going to be Khan but director J.J Abrams is keeping his secrets for now but that's okay with me because i don't want to go into the cinema and know everything that is about to happen before me, I want to be surprised! any way back reprising their roles are Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto as Kirk and Spock as well as Simon Pegg, Zoe Saldana and Anton Yelchin.
Man of Steel (14th June 2013)
I am still uncertain about yet another a Superman remake, but the trailer looks amazing so i am holding out judgment till i actually see the film. I have high hopes for this film though with combined talents of Zack Snyder and Christopher Nolan how can it not be great. Henry Cavill is taking on the role of Clark Kent/ Superman and so far so good, the trailer looks like the story is going to take a darker twist than that of the previous films and thankfully there is no Lex Luther but instead we have General Zod as our bad guy. I can't wait to see it! Fingers Crossed it lives up to the very high expectations.

Oz The Great and Powerful
Who doesn't like the Wizard of Oz, i loved the original and happy to see that there is going to be a modern version made, i know the story is going to be different but its still based in the land of the yellow brick road. James Franco is playing a stage wizard that ends up in Oz and has to help battle the evil witch like the prophecy says, the film looks good though and if the story line falls flat, which i doubt, but the animations will undoubtedly be fantastic.

Despicable Me 2
Seriously who didn't like Despicable Me the first time around. The little minions were hilarious and the relationship between Gru and the girls was so cute. So good news all round that there is going to be a sequel,   so excited just thinking about absolutism adored the first one, one of the best animated films i have seen in the last few years. I can't forget the trailer which is brilliant in its own right, so funny can not wait to go and see.

Kick Ass 2
Kick Ass was great! Kick Ass 2 better be amazing to beat how brilliant the first one was. There hasn't been a trailer released yet as it is still 11 months away from being released but i am still excited as to see how the story will evolve from the first film and if all our favourite characters are going to return, Hit Girl, Red Mist, Kick Ass and there are rumors going around that Big Daddy will be coming back from the dead, yet to be confirmed. Most excitingly Jim Carey has joined the cast as Colonel Stars and Stripes, i love Jim Carey he is such a brilliant actor so can't wait to see what type of character he will be playing. The film is not due out till November so will be anxiously waiting to see what will be released.

Thor The Dark World
Even though its still practically a year away i am still exciting to see Thor 2, the first one was fab and can't wait to see what the next installment has for us especially after the conclusion to The Avengers. Chris Hemsworth is back as our favourite Norse god as well as Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Kat Dennings and Idris Elba and former Doctor Who, Christopher Eccelston take his turn as our villain Malekith. Hopefully Thor will be reunited with his true love Jane Foster after his only way of getting back to her was destroyed at the end of the first film, though he did manage to get back to earth in time for the Avengers so all hope isn't lost. Along with Iron Man 3 i am hoping that some snippets of information about the second Avengers film will crop up and perhaps maybe another Avenger popping in. Any way there still isn't a trailer yet but the first teaser can't be to far away.

2013 is going to be a great year for films and this list doesn't even scratch the surface of all the films i want to see in the coming year but just a few that i will be going to see.

Safe Haven

Who doesn't love a Nicholas Sparks movie???

Safe Haven is the next in line to hit the big screen and i can't wait!! If you haven't read the book do it, its brilliant!!! I think it was the first of his books that hasn't had me bawling my eyes out at the end of it but its still a great story, thoroughly recommend reading the book first as it is fantastic.

The story is about Katie (Julianne Hough) who has moved to a small town after escaping her abusive ex husband. All she wants do is survive and keep hidden from her ex and has no interest in connecting with anybody until she meets Alex (Josh Duhamel) which after a series of events pushes the two together even with Katie's reluctance to form personal ties. Alex is a local resident in the small town of Southport his wife died leaving him to raise his two kids alone but something draws him to Katie.

I really hope that the film sticks as close to the original story as possible because it is such a good story and from the trailer it looks like it is sticking to the story and i can't wait!

I love Julianne Hough as a performer especially in Footloose and Rock of Ages and i am really looking forward to seeing her do something different and more serious and Josh Duhamel what can i say, i love him!

The film is being directed by Lasse Hallstrom and also stars Cobie Smulders, David Lyons, Scott Porter and Cullen Moss.

Can't wait to see this! It's out in cinemas on the 14th February 2013 right in time for valentines day!

check out the other Nicholas Sparks adaptations:
The Notebook
Dear John
The Lucky One
The Last Song
A Walk to Remember

Star Wars

Disney have confirmed that they have bought Lucas Film and have already announce that a new Star Wars film is in the works and is hopefully going to be released in 2015.

The deal was worth around $4.05 billion and comes after George Lucas announced that he is retiring from film making and won't have anything to do with the Star Wars franchise.

The new films are set to be a sequel to the original films and are about the adventures of Luke Skywalker and is set for a 2015 release with films every 2 years after that. I have to say i am really excited about this, i love Star Wars and it will be interesting to see where the story is going to go and how it is going to develop. I also really hope that they are going to be better than the prequels because i felt slightly let down by them especially Attack of the Clones, But hopefully Disney will do a great job at developing the series.

There is also a TV show in the works based on the criminals and the gangs in the Star Wars universe . I can't wait!!

Iron Man 3 Trailer

Who else is excited about this???

The official story line to the film is that Tony Stark will have his personal life destroyed by is enemy and this time round it is being played by Sir Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin. The trailer has Tony Stark doing a voice over about how things haven't been right since New York and that he is scared about someone hurting Pepper to get to him. The trailer is action packed with the big moment coming when we see someone fire missiles at Tony Stark's amazing cliff side house, destroying it completely as it falls into the ocean. There is also a small clip of Tony being put under for some sort of medical purposes which looks intriguing. I can't wait to see more!

I love Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark/Iron Man and i loved the last two films plus he was amazing in Avengers. Also back reprising their roles are Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle and Jon Favreu as Pepper Potts, James Rhodes and Happy Hogan, with Paul Bettany voicing Jarvis and I will expect to see a Stan Lee cameo. They will be joined by some new faces that will include Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale and the already stated Sir Ben Kingsley. Although Jon Favreu directed the first two films he has taken on an executive producer role this time and handed the reins to Shane Black.

I am really looking forward to seeing Iron Man 3 especially after the Avengers and wondering which angle the story will take, will we see any Avengers cameos and is it going to lead into the other films in the franchise. I have high hopes that the story line will be better than the second film as i really didn't like Mickey Rourke as the bad guy so looking forward to seeing Ben Kingsley turn as the villain.

Getting really excited now!! Bring on April

Iron Man 3 is set for release on the 26th April in the UK and the 3rd May in the US.

Carrie Trailer

The trailer for the remake of Stephen Kings Carrie has been released with Chloe Moretz. As well as the teaser trailer being released the first of the posters has also been released (above) which gives me the chills with the black eyes and all the blood.

The teaser trailer doesn't really give much away, all we see is a close up of a burning building for most of the 60 second teaser with voice overs of various unknown people and at the end we see Carrie (Chloe Moretz) standing filthy and covered in blood.

If you haven't read the book or seen the other two film adaptations the main plot to the film is that Carrie lives in Maine with her deeply religious mother Margaret (Julianne Moore) and at school is the outcast and doesn't stand up for herself., especially from the leader of the popular mean girls Chris Hargensen (Portia Doubleday, but Sue Snell (Gabrielle Wilde) tries to make amends by getting her boyfriend Tommy (Ansel Elgort) to ask Carrie to Prom which ends in disastrous consequences when Carrie is pushed to far by the school bullies and cracks, unleashing havoc on the town with telekinetic powers.

Kimberley Peirce is directing the remake with the screen play written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. The film will also star Judy Greer, Alex Russell and Cynthia Preston.

I haven't read the book yet but have read a few of Stephen Kings books before and have been planning on reading Carrie for a while and will be downloading it onto my Kindle. Horror films tend not to be my choice of films but i do make an effort to watch any that have been adapted from Stephen King's books.

The film is set for release on the 15th March 2013

Die Hard 5

Bruce Willis is back as our favourite cop John McClane in the 5th installment of the Die Hard franchise this one being entitled 'A Good Day to Die Hard'. I think the first Die Hard is one of my favourite films, or at least on of my favourite Christmas films, not only is Brice Willis great in it, but Alan Rickman plays a great bad guy, he is amazing in the film.

The basic story line around this installment is that John McClane's son Jack (Jai Courtney)  gets into trouble when he is in Russia, and being a good father John goes out to Moscow to help his son out, only to get caught up in a terrorist plot that is linked to his son's arrest.

Directing this installment is John Moore, written by Skip Woods and will also star Cole Hauser, Sebastian Koch, Yuliya Snigir and reprising her role as Lucy McClane is Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

The trailer doesn't really give much away apart from a lot of explosions and gun fights, but its what we expect from the Die Hard franchise and also from a Bruce Willis film, so whats not to like.

If you haven't seen any of the previous films i suggest that you do, at least the first one any way, you don't really need to watch them to understand the plot as its easy to follow but you should watch them because they are great films, well definitely the first film as its superb. I haven't watched the other 3 in years so will have to catch up on them. The films are always on TV so if you see it on i strongly suggest watching it, you won't be disappointed.

The film is set for release on the 14th February 2013.

Fanboys

This has to be one of my favourite films, never get tired of watching it, it always make me laugh.

The film is set in 1998 just before the release of the Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace and Eric Bottler (Sam Huntington) reunites with his high school friends at a Halloween party, Hutch (Dan Fogler), Windows (Jay Baruchel), Zoe (Kristen Bell) and Linus (Chris Marquette). Eric who now works in his fathers car dealership has had to give up his dreams from high school where as his friends haven't changed at all, and when he finds out that his best friend Linus is dying of cancer, Eric brings up the idea of breaking into Skywalker ranch (a plan they drew up in high school) so that Linus can watch The Phantom Menace before he dies, and so their road trip begins when Window's says that he has met someone online that can help them break into the Lucas ranch so they start their Journey off to Texas.

On their journey to Texas the guys stop at the future birth place of Captain James T Kirk and terrorize some Trekkies, their van breaks down and end up in a biker bar stripping and getting high of guacamole laced with peyote. When Windows finally meets his online friend Rogue Leader, lets just say that he gets quite a shock but its hilarious, but the guys are sent on their way to meet another person who can help them in Las Vegas. Along the way up to Las Vegas the guys get arrested, after some light speed action and have to be bailed out  by Zoe (Kristen Bell) who wants to come along with the guys.

When they get to Vegas Linus and Eric go off to meet their contact who turns out to be William Shatner (as himself) gives them the plans for the Skywalker ranch so that they can break in and they also bump into the Trekkies that they terrorized after realizing that the hotel they are in are having a Star Trek convention. Mean while Hutch and Windows have hit it off with two women and end up ditching Zoe (who is in love with Windows but he doesn't realize).

Eventually the gang end up at the Skywalker ranch and i am not going to say what happens next or whether Linus gets to see the film. But what i will say is that this is a film you need to watch! It is hilarious! Some of my favourite bits happen when they get into the Skywalker ranch. Kristen Bell is brilliant as Zoe, she stands out amongst the group of guys and holds her ground, especially when she threatens to burn an Ewok (love the Ewoks) . The appearance of Seth Rogan is so funny especially when he shows off his tattoos and his defense of Star Wars against the Trekkies. Even though the film has the sad story line of Linus's illness, you kind of forget about it during the film, even though they are on a quest for him to fulfill a wish before he dies. Along side the Linus's story line, Eric is trying to find his place in the world as he is unhappy at his fathers car dealership as he gave up his dream of being a comic book artist, and we see Eric struggling with the decision as to whether he should abandon the gangs quest and go home or to give up his opportunity to take over his fathers dealership and do what makes him happy.

The film was originally released on the 6th February 2009 and was directed by Kyle Newman with the story written by Dan Pulick and Ernest Cline. It also has some great cameos related to Star Wars and cult-hit/Sci-Fi films, not going to tell you who because why that would be spoiling the surprise, lets see how many you can spot.

This film is brilliant i really suggest watching it, even if you don't like Star Wars its still a really good film.

You can buy it for £5 from Amazon and it is definitely worth it.

Ruby Sparks Trailer

After seeing the trailer last night whilst i was at the cinema, i can't wait to go and see the film. It looks really good, especially if your in the mood for a good Rom-Com. The film is brought to us by the same people who made Little Muss Sunshine, which i love, so i have high hopes for the Ruby Sparks, and hopefully it won't be a generic Rom-Com.

They story is about Calvin (Paul Dano) who is a young novelist who had a successful novel when he was 19 and has been struggling with writers block ever since. After some advice from his therapist (Elliot Gould) he comes up with a character who inspires him to write, Ruby (Zoe Kazan) and when Ruby appears in his living room he is completely shocked that the words he has written have turned into a real breathing person which turns Calvin's life upside down especially when he finds out that he can control Ruby by his writing, which we all know is going to end in a disaster when Ruby finds out.

The film was directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, and was written by Ruby Sparks herself Zoe Kazon. The film also stars Antonio Banderas, Annette Bening, Steve Coogan, Chris Messina and Deborah Ann Woll.

The trailer for this film looks brilliant and also got the song Ruby by the Kaiser Chiefs stuck in my head, so will definitely be going to see it when its released on the 12th October in the UK

LOL Review

Certificate: 12A Directer: Lisa Azuelos Cast: Miley Cyrus, Demi Moore, Douglas Booth and Ashley Green  Distributor: Lionsgate  Running Time: 97 mins

When the film starts we meet LoL (Miley Cyrus) and her friends including Kyle (Douglas Booth), Janice (Lina Esco), Emily (Ashley Hinshaw) and you may recognize Adam Sevani from the Step Up series as Wenn, we also meet her 'enemy' Ashley (Ashley Greene) aka "the post it" because she sticks to every guy and her current boyfriend Chad (George Finn). In the first five minutes we find out who everyone is including Kyle (Booth) her long time friend, we all know what that leads to but more of that later, that they are in their first semester of the school year in a Fame type of way (well that's what it reminds me of), and that her boyfriend Chad cheated on her over the summer and she lies and said she hooked up with someone too which leads to Lol scribbling out the "chad & lol for ever" marker penned onto a wall in the bathroom.

When we meet her mum (Demi Moore) shes in the bath tub with her little sister and her mum is quizzing her on what she has done to her body the line "i don't want you to be a porn star" comes up. There is also diary involved which only ever leads to bad things. But Lol and her mum are really close which is kind of nice to see but if it follows the normal pattern something is going to happen to disrupt that. There is also a funny scene between Lols friend Emily and the hot math teacher (Austin Nichols) and with the rest of the girls in the class. We also find out the Lola's divorced parents are hooking up again and she's not very happy about it, but it also shows Emily and Kyle having dysfunctional families which causes tension with Kyle's band that also has Chad in it but they aren't actually that bad and at battle of the bands you start to see Lola's and Kyle's relationship start to develop past friendship especially during the house party that Lola has when her mum goes away for the weekend.

Like every other romance/drama film something happens between the two of them, in this case Lol suspects Kyle of cheating on her with Ashley, and they break up. With out giving to much away, there is a lot of drama between the group of friends especially when Lol finds out the truth when they are on a school trip to Paris, which was one of my favourite parts of the film, but the events in Paris have an affect on Lols relationship with her mother, after her mother reads her diary. If you are a fan of the teenage rom-coms you can probably guess how the movie will end, but if you don't now i will leave it for you to find out.

If yours a fan of Miley Cyrus or the rom-coms full of teenage angst then this is a film for you. I did like the film and its not a bad story, a bit predictable but worth the watch if it you get the chance.

The film is released on DVD in the UK on the 15th October and is £10 on Amazon

Rating: 6/10

Cinderella

The Disney DVD collection is expanding again, this time with the Diamond Edition of Cinderella, the 12th film in the Walt Disney Animated Classics was nominated for three Academy Awards when it was released in 1950. I love this film so much  its one of my favourite Disney film. The has been so many adaptations of this story in so many different way but nothing can beat the Disney version for me, from the characters to the music i love it all, i even have a drawing of Cinderella at home that was done by one of the artist at Disney World in Orlando.

Everyone knows the story of Cinderella, her dad remarries when she is a little girl, to a women who already has two daughters, and then the father dies and Cinderella is reduced to a servant a forced to serve her wicked stepmother and stepsisters. There is a ball at the castle and Cinderella wants to go but is forbidden by her stepmother unless she completes a ridiculous list of chores and make her own dress, which she does and it ends up getting ruined by her evil stepsisters, but all is not lost when Cinderella's Fairy Godmother turns up and helps her make it to the ball with the help of magic, where Cinderella meets the Prince and falls in love, when the clock turns midnight Cinderella  has to go, and she leaves behind a glass slipper which leads the Prince on a quest to find Cinderella and he does and they live happily ever after. Well that's basically the story line with a few bits and pieces tossed in to make it more interesting.

I love all the little characters we see in the film, like the mice especially Gus hes so cute and funny and then there is Lucifer the cat, who is pure evil but is brilliant and cunning i swear my cat is like him and Bruno the dog who is so cute and absolutely hates the cat. And we can not forget the Fairy Godmother "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo" love that bit.

If you haven't got Cinderella its a must have for the DVD collection its a must have the the best price i have found is £12.97 from Amazon

The Perks of Being a Wallflower Trailer

The films stars Logan Lerman as Charlie, an introverted freshmen who is taken under the wings of two seniors Patrick (Ezra Miller) and Sam (Emma Watson), who teach him the ways of the world. In the coming of age story based on the bestselling book by Stephen Chbosky, which is waiting to be read on my kindle before i go and see the film, as the book is suppose to be really good.

The trailer looks really good and looks like it will be a great story as we see Charlie develop through high school with the guidance from Sam and Patrick, through love, loss, fear and hope and the unforgettable friends that you make and that help guide you through life. I am also interested in seeing Emma Watson in something outside Harry Potter because i am so use to seeing her as Hermione and i want to see if she can break away from the character and make a name for herself without Harry Potter (even though i do love Harry Potter).

The film also stars Paul Rudd, Nina Dobrev, Kate Walsh, Dylan McDermott and Mae Whitman as we follow Charlie through the funny and touching coming-of-age story, i can't wait to go and see t looks like it will be a good film.

The film is released Nationwide on the 5th October and in selected cinemas from the 21st September.

And don't for get to read the book before you see the film.

October Baby

Certificate: 12A  Director: Andrew Erwin and John Erwin Cast: Rachel Hendrix, Jason Burkey, John Schneider and Jasmine Guy Distributor: Provident Films and Samuel Goldwyn Films Running Time: 107mins

Hannah (Rachel Hendrix) is a 19 year old student who suffers from many things including asthma, epilepsy and depression, when during her debut in the school play she collapses on stage and is rushed to hospital. At the hospital she has a meeting with her parents (John Schneider and Jennifer Price) and her doctor to discuss what is causing all her problems, when her parents finally tell her that she is adopted, and not only was she adopted but that she was the result of a failed abortion!!! Which starts to make Hannah question everything about herself as you would expect.

After the revelations from her parents we find Hannah down by a lake where her best friend Jason (Jason Burkey) finds her, after talking to him and just get everything off her chest with the help of Jason she talks through all her options and settles on one . . . . . to find her birth mother.

Obviously her parents aren't happy about the idea but Hannah goes anyway. So she joins the road trip with Jason and his friends who are on their way to New Orleans for spring break and they are passing through Mobile, Alabama where Hannah was born. Also along on the road trip is Jason's girlfriend Alanna (Colleen Trusler) who for some reason doesn't like Hannah, and they come to blows one night when they are forced to share a room together at the motel that they were staying at which leaves Hannah leaving in the middle of the night and Jason finding her walking along the road the next morning.

When they arrive in Mobile they find out that the hospital that Hannah was born in had closed down but they decide to break in anyway, that leads them to being arrested for breaking and entering. When Hannah breaks down and explains everything to the police officer he decides to help her after he remembers dealing with the clinic that Hannah's birth mother went to get the abortion from and he remembers one of the nurses who worked there and she just happened to be the one to have signed Hannah's birth certificate.

After getting the address for the nurse Hannah heads out to find the nurse, Mary (Jasmine Guy) who tells Hannah everything about what happened with Hannah's mother, the failed abortion, the birth and what happened afterward, which leaves Hannah with so many different emotions running through her head and with the address of her birth mother. When Hannah goes to see her birth mother it doesn't go well and to make matters worse her dad is waiting for her when she get out of the office angry and ready to take her home.

When she gets home Hannah ends up at a church where she lets go of all her emotions to a Priest (Rodney Clark) who guides Hannah on the path of forgiveness not just to her birth mother, to her parents, Jason and herself.

I really like this film, i cried towards the end i couldn't help myself, but it is such a good film about life as we follow Hannah on her journey. I loved watching the relationship between Hannah and Jason grow into something more and was so glad when he broke up with his horrid girlfriend. There are some great bits that involve everyone on the road trip whilst they are in the van which include Jason's friend Truman and Truman's cousin B-Mac

I would definitely recommend watching October Baby

Beautiful Creatures Trailer

If you haven't read the book by Kami Garcia and Margret Stohl, the story is set around two people in love Ethan and Lena (Alden Ehrenreich and Alice Englert), not very original but the difference in this is that Lena is a Castor, a witch basically but are linked through their family history. When Lena moves to a small town in the south she meets Ethan (the story is set from his point of view) who can't wait to get out of his small town, they connect as soon as they set eyes on each other. dark secrets start to emerge about their families, their history and their town.

I really like the books so can't wait to see it develop on screen  and see some of the characters come to life like Ethan's best friend Link (Thomas Mann), Amma (Viola Davis) and Lena's cousin Ridley (Emmy Rossum). The film is being directed by Richard LaGravenes who directed The Fisher King and P.S I Love You.

The trailer look really good,so i hope it lives up to what i think as a fan it should be like, because when you are reading something you start to picture what it looks like in your head so i hope I'm not disappointed, but i can't wait to go and see it. The film also stars Emma Thompson, Jeremy Irons and Kyle Gallner. So check out the trailer below and read the book before you go and see the film.

The film is set for release on the 13th February 2013

Marvel Avengers Assemble Box Set

Six movies one box! What could be better?

With the release of the amazing Avengers Assemble on DVD and Blu-ray there of course is a box set with all the movies that make up the Avengers story. I loved the Avengers Assemble and all the other films in the series especially the first Iron Man film i think Robert Downey Jr is great a s Tony Stark and in Avengers his scenes with Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner/Hulk were some of my favourite as well as the incident between The Hulk and Loci (if you have seen the film you will know what i mean) is one of the best made me laugh so much.

The box set include Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger and of course Avengers Assemble for roughly £30 depending on where you get it from. If you haven't already bought the other films in the collection its a great deal because you basically getting all the films for £5 way more than what they would cost individually so its a great deal.

The cheapest i have found the box set was for £29.97 on Amazon so it will be going on my wish list.

Now is Good Trailer

Tessa (Dakota Fanning) is diagnosed with a terminal illness, and at 17 she still has a things that she wishes to do and her doctor tells her to do everything she ants to do before she dies. After putting together a list of all the things she wants to do and with the help of her best friend Zoey (Kaya Scodelario) she sets out to do everything that she thinks a teenager should experience including taking drugs and losing her virginity. But what she doesn't expect is to fall in love with her new neighbor Adam (Jeremy Irvine) which proves to be the greatest experience of all. Whilst Tessa is trying to deal with living the last few months of her life, her parents and younger brother are also trying to deal with their loss in their own way.

The film is based on the book 'Before I Die' by Jenny Downham which i am currently reading before i watch the film, it looks really good, only just started the book but i already know that its going to make me cry. It kind of reminds me of 'A Walk to Remember' by Nicholas Sparks, but it looks like a good film, apart from Dakota Fanning's British accent sounds a bit weird.

The film also stars Olivia Williams, Paddy Considine and Patrick Baladi and was directed by Ol Parker.

When i go and see this film i will definitely be bringing a box of tissues with me cause i think i will be needing them and if you don't want to cry then i wouldn't recommend going to see this.

The film is set for release on the 19th September and don't forget your tissues.

The Oranges Trailer

The film centers around two families, the Walling's (Hugh Laurie & Catherine Keener) and the Ostroff's (Oliver Platt & Allison Janney) who are best friends and live next door to each other on Orange Drive. There relationship changes when Nina Ostroff (Leighton Meester) returns home after a bad break up, instead of starting a relationship with the Walling's son Toby (Adam Brody), she starts a relationship with David Walling (Hugh Laurie) the father of her childhood best friend Vanessa (Alia Shawkat) and her parents best friend which throws both familys into upheaval.

The trailer is hilarious, i love Hugh Laurie hes a brilliant actor so i am really looking forward to seeing this. Plus i really like Leighton Meester and i love Adam Brody from The OC, i can't forget Allison Janney from Juno and The Help.

The film is released on the 5th October.

Monsters University

I love Monsters Inc!!! It still makes me laugh even though i have watched it so many times and i am so happy that they have decided to make a 2nd one Monsters University.

The film is set 10 years before Monsters Inc and it shows how Sulley and Mike meet. At first they are rivals at Monster University as the are studying to be scarers at Monsters Inc but they then become best friends. The first teaser trailer shows Sulley pulling a prank on Mike by turning him into a disco ball, and it also shows they Monsters acting like the typical college student. The trailer was funny made me laugh.

The voices that will be bringing our favourite monsters alive are John Goodman, Billy Crystal, Steve Buscemi, Jennifer Tilly, Frank Oz and Kelsey Grammer.

Monsters University will be the first prequel that Pixar have ever produced and is set for release on the 21st June in the US and the 12th July in the UK

Friends with Benefits

I didn't get the chance to see Friends with Benefits when it was released at the cinema last year so when i saw that it was on Sky Premier this week i finally got the chance to watch it.

I love Justin Timberlake and his films always have me laughing and this time was not different. Dylan (Timberlake) is an art directer for a small Internet company in LA and Jamie (Mila Kunis) is an executive for a recruiting firm in New York and is tasked to convince Dylan that he should move to New York and become the art director for GQ, which he does.  As we go through the film we see their relationship change from being friends to being friends with benefits (wasn't a surprise). One of my favourite scenes happens when Dylan takes Jamie home for the holiday weekend (her plans fell through) and Dylan gets stuck on the Hollywood sign and has to be air lifted off. The story line is virtually the same for this film as it is for every other romantic comedy, girl meets guy, they fall in love, they break up and then they get back together, so there weren't any shocks when it came to the story line of the film, you knew what was going to happen.

I thought the partnership between Timberlake and Kunis was brilliant and they worked really well together and there were some great comedy moments in there. Jenna Elfman who played Dylan's sister Annie was brilliant, the scenes she was in made me laugh a lot. Also Emma Stone made an appearance right at the beginning of the film which was also a highlight. Bryan Greenberg, Woody Harrelson, Patricia Clarkson and Shaun White also make an appearances.

So if you live in the UK you should watch Friends With Benefits on Sky Movies now.

Pitch Perfect

The film reminds me of Glee but set in college which is exactly what it is. Beca, joins an all girl singing group injecting some much needed energy into it and freshens up the group ready to take on their male rivals on campus, not much information has been released yet so hopefully with more trailers we will get a better look at what this movie is going to be about.

The film stars Anna Kendrick, Elizabeth Banks, Alexis Knapp, Brittany Snow, Rebel Wilson and Anna Camp. Originally i wasn't a big fan of Anna Kendrick when i watched Twilight, probably because i didn't like her character but after watching Scott Pilgrim and 50/50 i started to like her as an actress, so i hope that this film will be as good as the others that she has been in.

I am looking forward to seeing this film, it looks like it will be a great laugh. Even though i like Glee i hope that this film isn't going to fall into the trap of trying to be Glee and instead try and stand on its own as a Comedy musical.

The film is set for release on the 5th October 2012.

Breaking Dawn Part 2 Trailer

The trailer for the highly anticipated final part to the Twilight Saga has finally been released. No more 10 second teasers or photos we finally have a trailer to sink out teeth into.

The film will see our favourite sparkling vampires back in their roles to fight for their lives. If you haven't read the books yet, Why?? you need to read them before you watch the film because i am not afraid to give you non readers any spoilers because the dedicated fans will have read the books and no what is install for us.

When we left off Bella had just given birth (quite horrifically) to baby Renesmee and the only way for her to live is for Edward to turn her into a vampire and they were at war with the Werewolves so we are all left wondering what is going to happen when Bella wakes up as a vampire, if you have read the books you will know what is going to happen and i am hoping that what is in the books will be able to translate onto film like it should cause in the past it sometimes hasn't worked very well.

Robert Pattinson and Kristin Stewart are back as out to love birds with Tayler Lautner, Ashley Greene, Dakota Fanning, Kellan Lutz, Jackson Rathbourne, Nikki Reid, Peter Facinelli and Billy Burke are all back reprising their roles with Mackenzie Foy comes in as Renesmee,

I am looking forward to seeing the film, like the Harry Potter, i am looking forward to seeing how it will all end.

Breaking Dawn Part 2 is set for release on the 16th November World Wide

So here it is the trailer we have all been looking forward to seeing!!!

I'm so excited!!!

What did you think of the trailer?? Are you excited?? (Leave comments)

Pocahontas

The 33rd Full-Length Disney animated film is Pocahontas which i have just added to my DVD collection after i saw it on offer in HMV. I have the majority of Disney films on video but i no longer have a video player so i have slowly been re-building my collection on DVD and have just added Pocahontas to my collection.

I love this film so much!! The story, the characters, the animation and especially the music which won 2 Oscars in 1996.

The film was first released in 1995 and tells the story of Pocahontas the daughter of Chief of a Native American tribe and her encounter the settlers, especially John Smith who arrives on a ship from England. Even though they come from different backgrounds their love develops as well as the friction between the Natives and the British that are settling on their land.

The music in this film is amazing and the songs just get into your head and they deserved the 2 Oscar's they got, because the soundtrack is phenomenal.

This is a much watch Disney classic!!!

Charlie Bartlett

Certificate: R Directer: Jon Poll Cast: Anton Yelchin, Kat Dennings, Hope Davis and
Robert Downey Jr Distributor: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer  Running Time: 97 mins

Charlie (Anton Yelchin) is the typical high school student who just wants to be accepted by the kids at school, when we first meet him he has just been expelled from school for making and selling fake Id's in his room, we find out that he comes from a very rich family after his mum (Hope Davis) tries to buy his way back into the school and when she asks him why he was making the Id's his reply was that he wanted to be accepted, that he wanted to be happy and popular and that was the point of high school, to be accepted. The suggestion that Charlie should move home and attend public school is brought forward. We see Charlie and his mum sat at the piano and he is reminding her that she needs to take her meds and that normal kids don't show up to school with a chauffeur and that he should take the bus.

We cut to Robert Downey Jr entering his house and we meet his Daughter Susan (Kat Dennings) who calls her dad the Principle and he has a difficult relationship with his ex wife when he is sat at his desk drinking whiskey and he cuts off the voice message from her and then we see him driving a toy boat around his pool drinking whiskey.

When Charlie starts school he gets on the bus and gets some strange looks because he is dressed in a suit and has a brief case, he gets mistaken for a teacher by Susan because of the way he is dressed and when he goes into the bathroom he interrupts the school "bad boy" Murphy (Tyler Hilton) and gets his head stuffed down the toilet, so school doesn't start very well for Charlie he is an outcast because he is new and dresses weird compared to the other students. Charlie auditions for the school play which is quite funny so i don't want to give any spoilers for that, and when he gets beaten up by the school bullies his mums response is the call in the shrink. The shrink solution is to put him on some meds.

After some interesting side affects to taking the new meds ( if you have ever watched The Big Bang Theory its similar to when Sheldon drinks coffee and dresses like the Flash) he realizes that he can sell the Ritalin with the help of Murphy at the school dance and make a load of money and  lets just say there are some funny side affects. A kid at school comes up to Charlie to get some drugs because of Charlies connections when Charlie can't help him he finds a way by trying to find the right drug to give him and goes to the Shrink relaying the information and symptoms that Kit told Charlie to get the drugs to help him and gets the drugs. Charlie becomes the new school shrink with kids coming up to him in his "office" for advice and drugs with the help of Murphy. Along with Charlies drug/psychiatric business doing well his relationship with Susan is also developing much to her dads disapproval (he also has a drinking problem).

One of the kids that Charlie tried to help Kit, tries to kill himself by taking a load of sedatives, which leads to a confrontation between Charlie and Nathan about him selling drugs. Charlie tries to make it up to Kit by helping him with the play that he wrote onto the stage and he tries to get Murphy to go on a date with a girl he really likes. A protest breaks out over cameras being installed in the school and the principle is placing the blame on Charlie even though he isn't a part of the protest because he doesn't want to be expelled again. Things come head to head with the principle over Susan after Nathan jumps to the wrong conclusions, Charlie gets arrested, students riot in protest and another confrontation between Nathan and charlie occurs this time with a gun, that is where i am going to leave it, you will have to watch it to see what happens at the end.

The films is great, it shows the life of a high school student that will do anything to fit on, even if it is illegal and how he deals with social pressures a lot of the time films like this are done from more of a female perspective so its nice to see something different. Anton Yelchin is brilliant in the role of Charlie and there are some great moments especially between Charlie and his mum, who Charlie is clearly the adult in the family as he looks after his mother because his father isn't around. I love Robert Downey Jr and he doesn't disappoint in the film he is just brilliant especially in the scenes he shares with Yelchin and Kat Dennings (who is great in the film) . This is defiantly a film to watch.

Rating: 8/10

The Bourne Legacy Trailer

The latest trailer for Bourne Legacy has been released. The film carries on from where Bourne Ultimatum finished with the public and political fall out caused by "Operation Treadstone". The CIA decides to shut down "Operation Outcome" the successor to "Treadstone". Aaron Cross (Jeremy Renner) an agent from Operation Outcome and Stephanie Snyder the doctor that helper create the agents must find a way to escape the CIA before they are terminated.

The film is directed by Tony Gilroy who was the screen writer for the first to films. Along side Jeremy Renner the film also stars Rachel Weisz , Ed Norton, Joan Allen, David Strathairn, Albert Finney and Scott Glenn.

I am looking forward to see what Jeremy Rennner brings to the film, i liked him in Mission Impossible 4 and Avengers so i hope he can stand out in this film especially since he has to live up to Matt Damon's Jason Bourne, so there are some big boots to fill and i have my fingers crossed that he can fill them.

The Last Ride

The film is based on the last days of of the legendary Country star Hank Williams as he drives through the Appalachian country-side of 1950's America. A two man journey with a boy coming of age and a man who left the world way before his time as a victim of his own abuse.

If you don't now who Hank Williams is he pioneered and pretty much invented country music. At the peek of his career he was acknowledged as the greatest ever singer-song writer in American history. After his rise to fame in the 1940's his life was a train wreck, drugs, alcohol and a hair trigger temper had ended two marriages, lost the majority of his friends and he was untouchable in the music industry even though he was a musical genius no one wants to work with him. In 1952 he decided to get his act together and he booked gigs for New Years Eve and hires a local kid who doesn't even own a radio to drive him as we follow the "mysterious" last days of Hank Williams.

Taking on the role of the musical genius is Henry Thomas and is joined by Jesse James, Fred Dalton Thompson, Kaley Cuoco, Steven Tobolowsky and Ray McKinnon. Behind the camera directed is Henry Thomason.

The film looks really good, I don't really know much about Hank Williams but the trailer for the film has me hooked, i loved Walk the Line the biopic of the life of Johnny Cash who had some of the same issues to over come like Hank Williams so i hope it is going to be just as good or even better.

The film is released on the 22nd June so don't forget to check it out

Skyfall

New James Bond Teaser
Bond is back!!!

Daniel Craig is back as our favourite secret agent in the 23rd installment of the longest running film franchise.

Not a lot is given away from this teaser, but it looks like its going to be a good one. I didn't really like Quantum of Solace but hopefully this film will make up for it.

Bond finds his loyalty to M challenged when secrets from her past come to light. MI6 is attacked, Bond sets out to eliminate the threat regardless to what it will cost him.

Along side Daniel Craig the film stars Javier Bardem, Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney, Naomie Harris, Rory Kinnear, Berenice Marlohe, Helen McCroy, Ola Rapace and Ben Whishaw,

Directing the film is Sam Mendes as Craig makes his 3rd appearance as 007.

How can we not love James Bond, and Daniel Craig has been one of my favourite 007's. I will definitely be going to see this.

Skyfall is set for release on the 26th October

Brave

Brave is this years Disney Pixar animated film (love Disney) and it looks really good. The film is centered around our Princess Merida who is a bit of a tom boy who love archery and wants to show her worth and defy the customs of her kingdom and it causes ciaos with in the kingdom. Merida consults a witch to help her change her destiny and like most Disney film it comes with consequences, when her family becomes cursed Merida must find a way to reverse the spell and save her family and discover the true meaning of bravery along the way.

Voicing the characters are Kelly Macdonald, Julie Walters, Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson, Kevin McKidd, Craig Ferguson, John Raztenberger and Robbie Coltrane.

It is no secret that i love Disney films and will definitely be going to see this when it comes out at the cinema. In my opinion some of the latest attempts to create a Disney Princess type of story haven't worked out very well (Princess and the Frog) and i am a big fan of the Disney classics so the newer films have a lot to live up to and i hope that Brave will do just that. The trailers look really good and i can't wait for it to be released.

Brave is set for release on the 22nd June in the US and on the 17th August in the UK

Snow White and the Huntsman

Snow White and the Huntsman is the second of the films based around the Snow White story this one being the more darker, action led of the two films. The film was directed by Rupert Sanders and written by Evan Daughtry.

The film is set in the middle ages and the Queen Ravenna (Charlize Theron) is taking over Europe, but she realizes that her step daughter Snow White (Kristen Stewart) is not only to be the 'Fairest of one all' but to take over her throne and become Queen. The only way for the Queen to remain on the throne is to consume Snow White's heart and become immortal. Snow White has escaped into the dark forest so Ravenna sends the huntsman Eric (Chris Hemsworth) after her to bring back Snow White's heart, but Eric can't kill her so instead teaches her how to fight and they with eight dwarfs, knights from England and Snow White's ex Prince William (Sam Claflin) and they start a revolution against the Queen.

I actually can't wait to see this film, Kristen Stewart isn't my favourite actress but the film looks really good, Charlize Theron looks brilliant as she plays the evil queen and Chris Hemsworth looks fab as well. I have already seen Mirror Mirror and it was very light hearted but i am expecting this take on the tale to be a lot darker and not as comical.

The film is set for release on the 1st June and can't wait to go and see it.

Directing the film is Ridley Scott and is the prequel to Scott's 1979 science fiction horror Alien and the rest of the franchise. The film stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall Green and Charlize Theron.

I have high hopes for the film, i love science fiction movies and this looks brilliant and can't wait to go and see. If you have never seen any of the other films before its fine because this is a prequel to the series so you won't have missed out on much but i do suggest that you watch them after because they are really good.
